About this practice exam
The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification exam tests a candidate’s ability to demonstrate overall knowledge of the AWS Cloud, independent of a specific job role: explain the value of the AWS Cloud, understand the AWS shared responsibility model and the AWS Well-Architected Framework, apply security best practices, understand AWS Cloud costs, economics, and billing practices, and describe and position core AWS compute, network, database, and storage services. This practice exam prepares you for AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) across Cloud Concepts, Security and Compliance, Cloud Technology and Services, and Billing, Pricing, and Support.
The exam emphasizes AWS Cloud benefits and design principles, the AWS shared responsibility model, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) and AWS IAM Identity Center, AWS global infrastructure, core compute, database, network, and storage services, and AWS pricing, billing, and support. It does not primarily assess coding, designing cloud architecture, troubleshooting, implementation, or load and performance testing.
The official AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) exam is 65 questions in 90 minutes. This practice exam follows the four official Cloud Practitioner domains and their published weights.
The certification validates understanding of:
- Cloud Concepts: benefits of the AWS Cloud including high availability, elasticity, and agility; design principles of the AWS Well-Architected Framework; AWS Cloud Adoption Framework (AWS CAF) and migration strategies; and cloud economics including rightsizing, automation, and economies of scale.
- Security and Compliance: the AWS shared responsibility model; security, governance, and compliance including AWS Artifact, Amazon GuardDuty, AWS Shield, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, and AWS Config; access management with AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS IAM Identity Center, least privilege, and root user protection; and security services including AWS WAF, AWS Firewall Manager, and AWS Trusted Advisor.
- Cloud Technology and Services: deploying and operating in the AWS Cloud including the AWS Management Console, APIs, SDKs, CLI, and infrastructure as code (IaC); AWS global infrastructure including Regions, Availability Zones, and edge locations; compute with Amazon EC2, Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), AWS Fargate, and AWS Lambda; databases with Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon ElastiCache; networking with Amazon VPC, Amazon Route 53, AWS VPN, and AWS Direct Connect; storage with Amazon S3, Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS), Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS), and AWS Backup; and AI/ML and analytics services including Amazon SageMaker AI, Amazon Athena, Amazon Kinesis, and AWS Glue.
- Billing, Pricing, and Support: compute purchasing options including On-Demand Instances, Reserved Instances, Spot Instances, and Savings Plans; billing and cost management with AWS Budgets, AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Pricing Calculator, AWS Organizations consolidated billing, and AWS Cost and Usage Report; and AWS Support plans, AWS Trusted Advisor, AWS Health Dashboard, and AWS Partner Network.
