According to the Cisco retired exams list, these exams are gone:

  • 300-720 SESA: last day August 27, 2026.
  • 300-725 SWSA: last day August 27, 2026.
  • 300-730 SVPN: last day August 27, 2026.

Notably, Cisco lists no direct replacement for any of them.

What happens to your existing certification?

Good news first. Cisco says active certifications based on a retired exam stay valid until their own expiration date. Still, you can no longer use a retired exam to certify or recertify. So if you planned to take SVPN, pick another concentration instead.

The CCNP Security path today

The official CCNP Security page lists one core exam and four concentrations:

  • Core: 350-701 SCOR, Implementing and Operating Cisco Security Core Technologies.
  • 300-710 SNCF: Securing Networks with Cisco Firewalls.
  • 300-715 SISE: Cisco Identity Services Engine.
  • 300-740 SSCA: Secure Cloud Access for Users and Endpoints.
  • 300-745 SDSI: Designing Cisco Security Infrastructure.

Also, each passed exam earns you a Cisco Certified Specialist badge. In addition, every exam counts toward recertification and is valid for three years.

What to know about the SCOR core exam

Because every candidate needs it, SCOR deserves most of your study time. The exam lasts 120 minutes and is offered in English and Japanese. Moreover, it covers network, cloud and content security, endpoint protection, secure network access, visibility and enforcement. Once you pass, you also earn the Cisco Certified Specialist – Security Core badge.

How to choose and prepare

First, match the concentration to your job. For example, firewall admins usually pick SNCF, while identity teams lean toward SISE. Next, keep in mind that SSCA is offered in English only. Then build a strong base for SCOR, since you need it in every case.
